GAF is embracing the 21st century, with the up and coming conference to celebrate the cumulation of the Glasgow Allotments Heritage Project. The conference will take place on Saturday 12th November 2011 in the Pearce Institute in Govan from 10am to 4pm.
As part of the conference preparation a face book page has been set up to allow the organisers to communicate what is going to happen. Rumours of a TV personality being asked to speak, with Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's name was mentioned by a source close to the organisers. One wonders what they have planned?
Exciting event that will tell the story of the project with presentations from the plot-holders, children and communities who have been involved together with displays of the photos, stories, archive material, maps, sound recordings that have been gathered during the project. The programme and booking form will be displayed on this site by the end of September. Watch this space and please put date in diary!
